Na indeling op basis van het aantal positieve lymfeklieren (1-3, 4+), werden 1491 patiënten gerandomiseerd om behandeld te worden met ofwel docetaxel 75mg/m 2 , toegediend 1 uur na doxorubicine 50 mg/m 2 en cyclofosfamide 500 mg/m 2 (TAC-arm) ofwel doxorubicine 50 mg/m 2 gevolgd door fluoro-uracil 500 mg/m 2 en cyclofosfamide 500 mg/m 2 (FACarm).
Après stratification selon le nombre de ganglions lymphatiques envahis (1-3, 4+), 1491 patientes ont été randomisées pour recevoir soit 75 mg/m² de docétaxel administrés une heure après 50 mg/m² de doxorubicine et 500 mg/m² de cyclophosphamide (bras TAC), soit 50 mg/m² de doxorubicine suivis de 500 mg/m² de fluorouracile et de 500 mg/m² de cyclophosphamide (bras FAC).
