Chaque État membre accorde l’homologation à tout type d’unité embarquée, de capteur de mouvement, de modèle de feuille d’enregistrement ou de carte tachygraphique conforme aux prescriptions visées aux articles 4 et 11, s’il est à même de vérifier la conformité de la production au modèle homologué.
A Member State shall grant type-approval to any type of vehicle unit, motion sensor, model record sheet or tachograph card which complies with the requirements set out in Articles 4 and 11, provided that the Member State is in a position to check that production models conform to the approved type.

1. Toute demande d’homologation concernant un type d’unité embarquée, de capteur de mouvement, de modèle de feuille d’enregistrement ou de carte tachygraphique est introduite par le fabricant ou son mandataire auprès des autorités d’homologation désignées à cet effet par chaque État membre.
1. Manufacturers or their agents shall submit an application for approval of a type of vehicle unit, motion sensor, model record sheet or tachograph card to the type-approval authorities designated to that effect by each Member State.

Les autorités compétentes de l’État membre auprès duquel la demande d’homologation a été introduite envoient à celles des autres États membres, dans un délai d’un mois, une copie du certificat d’homologation, accompagnée d’une copie de la documentation nécessaire, y compris en ce qui concerne les scellements, pour chaque type d’unité embarquée, de capteur de mouvement, de modèle de feuille d’enregistrement ou de carte tachygraphique qu’elles homologuent.
The competent authorities of the Member State to which the application for type-approval has been submitted shall, in respect of each type of vehicle unit, motion sensor, model record sheet or tachograph card which they approve, send within one month a copy of the type-approval certificate accompanied by copies of the relevant specifications, including those relating to the seals, to the authorities of the other Member States.

6. No application in respect of any one type of vehicle unit, motion sensor, model record sheet or tachograph card may be submitted to more than one Member State.

Les États membres attribuent au demandeur une marque d’homologation conforme au modèle préétabli pour chaque type d’unité embarquée, de capteur de mouvement, de modèle de feuille d’enregistrement ou de carte tachygraphique qu’ils homologuent en vertu de l’article 13 et de l’annexe II. Ces modèles sont adoptés par la Commission au moyen d’actes d’exécution, conformément à la procédure d’examen visée à l’article 42, paragraphe 3.
Member States shall issue to the applicant a type-approval mark conforming to a pre-established model, for each type of vehicle unit, motion sensor, model record sheet or tachograph card which they approve pursuant to Article 13 and Annex II. Such models shall be adopted by the Commission through implementing acts in accordance with the examination procedure referred to in Article 42(3).
