La présente décision régit la gestion et le traitement des informations confidentielles par le Parlement européen, y compris la création, la réception, la transmission et le stockage de ces informations en vue d'assurer une protection appropriée de leur caractère confidentiel.
This Decision governs the management and handling of confidential information by the European Parliament, including the creation, reception, forwarding and storage of such information, with a view to the appropriate protection of its confidential nature.

Vu l'accord-cadre sur les relations entre le Parlement européen et la Commission européenne (1), signé le 20 octobre 2010 (ci-après dénommé «accord-cadre»), et l'accord interinstitutionnel entre le Parlement européen et le Conseil relatif à la transmission au Parlement européen et au traitement par celui-ci des informations classifiées détenues par le Conseil concernant d'autres questions que celles relevant de la politique étrangère et de sécurité commune (2), signé le 12 mars 2014, («l'accord interinstitutionnel»), il est nécessaire de définir des règles spécifiques sur le traitement des informations confidentielles par le Parlement européen.
In the light of the Framework Agreement on relations between the European Parliament and the European Commission (1) signed on 20 October 2010 (‘the Framework Agreement’) and the Interinstitutional Agreement between the European Parliament and the Council concerning the forwarding to and handling by the European Parliament of classified information held by the Council on matters other than those in the area of the Common Foreign and Security Policy (2) signed on 12 March 2014 (‘the Interinstitutional Agreement’), it is necessary to lay down specific rules on the treatment of confidential information by the European Parliament.

This Decision governs the creation, reception, forwarding and storage of confidential information by the European Parliament with a view to the appropriate protection of its confidential nature.

Sans préjudice des dispositions nationales relatives à l’échange d’informations statistiques confidentielles autres que les informations couvertes par le présent règlement, la transmission d’informations statistiques confidentielles entre le membre du SEBC qui a collecté ces informations et une autorité du SSE peut avoir lieu pour autant que cette transmission soit nécessaire au développement, à la production ou à la diffusion efficaces de statistiques européennes ou pour accroître la qualité de celles-ci dans les domaines de compétence respectifs du SSE et du SEBC, et à condition que cette nécessité ait été justifiée.
1. Without prejudice to national provisions on the exchange of confidential statistical information other than information covered in this Regulation, the transmission of confidential statistical information between an ESCB member that collected the information and an ESS authority may take place provided that this transmission is necessary for the efficient development, production or dissemination, or for increasing the quality, of European statistics within the respective spheres of competence of the ESS and the ESCB and that this necessity has been justified.
