6. Urges the Governments of Pakistan and India to resolve the crucial riparian issues affecting the headwaters and the use of the rivers flowing through Jammu and Kashmir (the Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Beas and Sutlej rivers) as swiftly as possible, with reference to the existing mechanism provided for in the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960; nevertheless, as, for example, in the case of the upgrading of the Mangla Dam or the construction of the Baglihar Dam, underlines that addressing the agricultural, fishing, livestock and human water requirements of the people affected must remain a key priority and appeals to both governments to commission comprehensive environmental and social impact assessments before taking future decisions on any further dam project;

‘territory’ means, for the United States, the land areas (mainland and islands), internal waters and territorial sea under its sovereignty or jurisdiction, and, for the European Community and its Member States, the land areas (mainland and islands), internal waters and territorial sea in which the Treaty establishing the European Community is applied and under the conditions laid down in that Treaty and any successor instrument; application of this Agreement to Gibraltar airport is understood to be without prejudice to the respective legal positions of the Kingdom of Spain and the United Kingdom with regard to the dispute over sovereignty over the territory in which the airport is situated, and to the continuing suspension of Gibraltar Airport from European Community aviation measures existing as at 18 September 2006 as between Member States, in accordance with the Ministerial statement on Gibraltar Airport agreed in Córdoba on September 2006;

considérant qu'il convient d'introduire, à ce stade, de nouvelles limites plus basses pour la teneur en alcool méthylique de certaines eaux-de-vie élaborées en Autriche à la lumière des résultats des études effectuées en Autriche concernant les possibilités de diminuer la teneur en méthanol des eaux-de-vie de fruits concernées, qu'il convient également de suivre l'impact de l'évolution des différents aspects ayant trait à la teneur maximale en méthanol de ces eaux-de-vie de fruits car ces limites sont d'application aussi pour les mêmes eaux-de-vie de fruits élaborées dans les autres États membres et qu'il convient de continuer l'examen des possibilités pour réduire la teneur en méthanol dans ces eaux-de-vie de fruits compte tenu de l'évolution des techniques tout en tenant compte des caractéristiques traditionnelles de ces produits;
Whereas new lower limits for the methyl alcohol content of certain spirits produced in Austria should be introduced at this stage in view of the results of Austrian studies on the possibility of reducing the methanol content of the fruit spirits concerned; whereas it is also necessary to monitor the impact of the development of different aspects relating to the maximum methanol content of those fruit spirits because such limits must also be applied to the same fruit spirits produced in other Member States; whereas examination of the possibilities for reducing the methanol content of those fruit spirits should be continued, taking account of the development of techniques while bearing in mind the traditional characteristics of those products;

La présente convention s’applique au territoire des États membres compris dans le territoire douanier de la Communauté, y compris, pour la République fédérale d’Allemagne, l’île de Helgoland et le territoire de Büsingen (dans le cadre et selon les termes du traité entre la République fédérale d’Allemagne et la Confédération suisse sur l’inclusion de la commune de Büsingen/Haut-Rhin dans le territoire douanier de la Confédération suisse du 23 novembre 1964 ou dans la version actuelle) et, pour la République italienne, les communes de Livigno et de Campione d’Italia, ainsi qu’aux eaux territoriales, aux eaux intérieures maritimes et à l’espace aérien au-dessus du territoire des États membres».
This Convention shall apply to the territories of the Member States comprised in the customs territory of the Community as well as, for the Federal Republic of Germany, the Island of Heligoland and the territory of Büsingen (within the framework of and pursuant to the Treaty of 23 November 1964 between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Swiss Confederation on the inclusion of the commune of Büsingen am Hochrhein in the customs territory of the Swiss Confederation, or the current version thereof) and, for the Italian Republic, the municipalities of Livigno and Campione d'Italia, and to the territorial waters, the inland maritime waters and the airspace of the territories of the Member States’.
