6 Following a letter dated 21 March 2006 from the Registry of the Court of First Instance which informed them that their action could not be dealt with because for the purposes of proceedings they had to be represented by a lawyer authorised to practise before a court of a Member State of the European Union or of another State which is a party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), on 6 April 2006 the appellants lodged, through Mr Ç. 3. The complaining Party shall state in the request the existing measure it considers to be in breach of this Part of the Agreement and indicate the provisions of this Agreement that it considers relevant, and shall deliver the request to the other Party and to the Association Committee.

The Parties confirm that although the present Agreement replaces the Agreement of 18 December 1989 regarding relations between the Parties, the Agreement shall not prejudice or otherwise affect any measures taken before the entry into force of this Agreement or agreements made between them before that date in conformity with the 1989 Agreement and this upon the conditions and for the period of application contained in such measures or agreements.
