Par ailleurs, afin de corriger les statuts de l'entreprise commune Galileo adoptés par le règlement (CE) no 876/2002, qui comportent plusieurs erreurs ou dispositions ambiguës, il convient de modifier ces statuts.
In addition, in order to correct the Statutes of the Galileo Joint Undertaking adopted by Regulation (EC) No 876/2002, which contain several erroneous or ambiguous provisions, those Statutes should be amended.

Toutefois, en l'état actuel du programme Galileo, la phase de développement ne sera pas achevée avant la fin de 2008 et il semble inutile et coûteux de prolonger l'entreprise commune Galileo au-delà de 2006, car l'Autorité de surveillance du GNSS (4) européen instituée par le règlement (CE) no 1321/2004 (5) du 12 juillet 2004 sera en mesure de reprendre progressivement, dans le courant de l'année 2006, l'ensemble des activités actuelles de l'entreprise commune Galileo, puis de les mener à bien.
However, as the Galileo programme currently stands, the development phase will not be completed before the end of 2008. And it seems as well pointless and costly to extend the Galileo Joint Undertaking beyond 2006, since the European GNSS (4) Supervisory Authority, set up by Regulation (EC) No 1321/2004 (5) of 12 July 2004, will be able to gradually take over during the course of 2006 and then complete all the activities currently being carried out by the Galileo Joint Undertaking.

The procedures governing ensuing transfers of property will, in the case of the Galileo Joint Undertaking, be set out in the course of the winding-up proceedings laid down in Article 21 of the statutes of the Galileo Joint Undertaking annexed to Regulation (EC) No 876/2002 (5) and, in the case of the concession holder, in the concession contract.
