Je suis d’accord pour dire que nous ne devons pas revendiquer le privilège exorbitant d’être la monnaie de réserve, mais il n’est pas normal que nous ayons mis dix ans à construire l’euro et que dix ans après le passage à l’euro, nous soyons toujours passifs sur la scène internationale et que la voix forte de l’euro dans le rééquilibrage du système monétaire international ne soit pas mieux entendue.
I agree that we must not demand the exorbitant privilege of being the reserve currency. However, it is not normal either for us to have taken 10 years to create the euro and then, 10 years after the transition to the euro, we are still passive in the international arena and the strong voice of the euro is not being heard more clearly in the process of restoring some balance to the global monetary system.
