Ireland is taking part in this [instrument] in accordance with Article 5(1) of Protocol No 19 on the Schengen acquis integrated into the framework of the European Union, annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and Article 6(2) of Council Decision 2002/192/EC of 28 February 2002 concerning Ireland's request to take part in some of the provisions of the Schengen acquis*.

TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Quant aux mesures susceptibles d’être prises sur le territoire Schengen, l’Union pourrait réfléchir à l’instauration d’un moyen efficace d’identifier les personnes qui dépassent la durée de séjour autorisée, les dates de franchissement des frontières extérieures par les ressortissants de pays tiers n’étant pas enregistrées à l’heure actuelle.
Looking at the measures that could be taken within the Schengen territory, the Union could reflect on the introduction of an efficient tool for identifying overstayers, as the dates for movements of third-country nationals across the external borders are currently not recorded.

1. rappelle l'adoption de sa résolution du 20 janvier 2011 sur une politique européenne durable dans le Grand Nord et se félicite de la communication commune de la Commission et de la haute représentante de l'Union pour les affaires étrangères et la politique de sécurité du 26 juin 2012; réaffirme sa position selon laquelle, dès lors que trois États membres de l'Union (Danemark, Finlande et Suède) sont des États arctiques, et que la Norvège et l'Islande font partie de l'Espace économique européen et de l'espace Schengen, l'Union a un intérêt légitime, compte tenu de ses droits et obligations en vertu du droit international, de son engagement dans les domaines de l'environnement, du climat e autres, et de ses activités de financement et de recherche ainsi que de ses intérêts économiques, notamment dans les domaines du transport et de la mise en valeur des ressources naturelles; rappelle en outre que l'Union comporte de vastes territoires arctiques en Finlande et en Suède, qui sont habités par les Sames, seul groupe de population autochtone dans l'Union européenne;

Recalls the adoption of its resolution of 20 January 2011 on a sustainable EU policy for the High North, and welcomes the joint communication of the Commission and of the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of 26 June 2012; reaffirms its position that, with three EU Member States – Denmark, Finland and Sweden – being Arctic states and Norway and Iceland being part of the EEA and the Schengen area, the EU has a legitimate interest by virtue of its rights and obligations under international law, its commitment to environmental, climate and other policies and its funding, research activities and economic interests, including in the areas of shipping and the development of natural resources; recalls also that the EU has large Arctic land areas in Finland and Sweden, inhabited by the only indigenous population group in the EU, the Sami;

(4) Il est opportun qu'Eurojust et Europol établissent et maintiennent une coopération étroite et qu'Eurojust soit inclus dans le secrétariat commun des autorités de contrôle communes créées au titre des conventions Europol, Schengen et Union douanière.
It is desirable for Eurojust and Europol to establish and maintain close cooperation, and that Eurojust is included in the joint secretariat of the Joint Supervisory Bodies created under the conventions on Europol, Schengen and the Customs Union.
