Le conseil d’homologation de sécurité exécute les tâches confiées à l’Agence en matière d’homologation de sécurité par l’article 16, point a) i), du règlement (CE) no 683/2008 et est habilité à prendre des décisions relatives à l’homologation en matière de sécurité, comme le prévoit le présent article, notamment en ce qui concerne l’approbation de la stratégie d’homologation de sécurité et des lancements de satellites, l’autorisation d’exploiter les systèmes dans leurs différentes configurations et dans le cadre des divers services qu’ils offrent, l’autorisation d’exploiter les stations terriennes et en particulier les stations de surveillance situées dans des États tiers, ainsi que l’autorisation de fabriquer les récepteurs contenant la technologie du service public réglementé et leurs composantes.
2. The Security Accreditation Board shall perform the tasks entrusted to the Agency with regard to security accreditation under Article 16(a)(i) of Regulation (EC) No 683/2008 and take ‘security accreditation decisions’ as provided for in the present Article, in particular on the approval of the security accreditation strategy and of satellite launches, the authorisation to operate the systems in their different configurations and for the various services, the authorisation to operate the ground stations and in particular the sensor stations located in third countries, as well as the authorisation to manufacture receivers containing PRS technology and their components.

Ainsi, outre la fonction de représentation de l’Agence déjà prévue par le règlement (UE) no 912/2010, le président du conseil d’homologation de sécurité devrait gérer les activités d’homologation de sécurité sous la direction du conseil d’homologation de sécurité et assurer la mise en œuvre de la partie des programmes de travail de l’Agence liée à l’homologation.
Therefore, in addition to the function of representing the Agency, already provided for under Regulation (EU) No 912/2010, the Chairperson of the Security Accreditation Board should manage the security accreditation activities under the direction of the Security Accreditation Board and ensure the implementation of that part of the Agency’s work programmes associated with accreditation.

Compte tenu du périmètre des tâches confiées à l’Agence, parmi lesquelles figure l’homologation en matière de sécurité, le comité scientifique et technique établi en vertu de l’article 9 du règlement (CE) no 1321/2004 devrait être supprimé et le comité de sûreté et de sécurité du système institué en vertu de l’article 10 dudit règlement devrait être remplacé par le conseil d’homologation de sécurité qui sera chargé des travaux d’homologation en matière de sécurité et composé de représentants des États membres et de la Commission.
In view of the scope of the tasks entrusted to the Agency, which include security accreditation, the Scientific and Technical Committee set up in accordance with Article 9 of Regulation (EC) No 1321/2004 should be disbanded and the System Security and Safety Committee established in accordance with Article 10 of that Regulation should be replaced by the Security Accreditation Board, which will be responsible for security accreditation, and composed of representatives from the Member States and the Commission.

The above approval mark affixed to a vehicle shows that the vehicle type concerned has been approved in the Netherlands (E 4) pursuant to Regulations Nos 14 and 24 (1) (In the case of the latter Regulation the corrected absorption co-efficient is 1,30 m– 1). The approval numbers indicate that on the dates on which these approvals were granted, Regulation No 14 included the 07 series of amendments and Regulation No 24 was in its 03 series of amendments.

4.5. Si le véhicule est conforme à un type de véhicule homologué en application d'un autre (d'autres) règlement(s) annexé(s) à l'accord dans le même pays que celui qui a accordé l'homologation en application du présent règlement, le symbole prévu au paragraphe 4.4.1 n'a pas à être répété; dans ce cas, les numéros et symboles additionnels de tous les règlements pour lesquels l'homologation est accordée dans le pays ayant accordé l'homologation en application du présent règlement doivent être rangés en colonnes verticales situées à droit du symbole prévu au paragraphe 4.4.1.
4.5. If the vehicle conforms to a vehicle type approved, under one or more other Regulations Annexed to the Agreement, in the country which has granted approval under this Regulation, the symbol prescribed in paragraph 4.4.1 need not be repeated; in such a case the additional numbers and symbols of all the Regulations under which approval has been granted in the country which has granted approval under this Regulation shall be placed in vertical columns to the right of the symbol prescribed in paragraph 4.4.1.

If the drive train conforms to a type approved, under one or more other Regulations annexed to the Agreement, in the country which has granted approval under this Regulation, the symbol prescribed in paragraph 4.5.1 above need not be repeated; in such a case, the Regulation and approval numbers of all the Regulations under which approval has been granted in the country which has granted approval under this Regulation shall be placed in vertical columns to the right of the symbol prescribed in paragraph 4.5.1.

5.2.5. To reduce the administrative burden of the type-approval process, it is appropriate to allow vehicle manufacturers to obtain type-approval for the purposes of this Regulation, where appropriate, by means of obtaining approval in accordance with the relevant UNECE Regulation as listed in Annex IV to this Regulation.

Whereas it is desirable to take into account the technical requirements adopted by the UN Economic Commission for Europe in its Regulation N° 30 ('Uniform provisions concerning the approval of pneumatic tyres for motor vehicles and their trailers`), as amended (6), and in its Regulation N° 54 ('Uniform provisions concerning the approval of pneumatic tyres for commercial vehicles and their trailers`) (7) and in its Regulation N° 64 ('Uniform provisions concerning the approval of vehicles equipped with temporary-use spare wheels/tyres`) (8), which are annexed to the Agreement of 20 March 1958 concerning the adoption of uniform conditions for approval and reciprocal recognition of approval for motor vehicle equipment and parts;
