TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Pour rendre le texte plus clair, le rapporteur propose d'amender celui-ci (et non les considérants qui sont juridiquement moins contraignants) afin de bien préciser que tout pays a le droit d'interdire les importations de déchets radioactifs d'origine étrangère et de combustible nucléaire usé d'origine étrangère à des fins de stockage définitif.
To clarify the text the Rapporteur proposes amendments to the text (and not to the legally less binding Recital) which make it clear that any country has the right to ban imports both of foreign radioactive waste and of foreign nuclear spent fuel for final disposal.

Le préambule (xii) de la convention commune de l'AIEA reconnaît que "tout État a le droit d’interdire l’importation sur son territoire de combustible usé et de déchets radioactifs d'origine étrangère".

(12a) The International Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management entitles any State to ban import into its territory of foreign spent fuel and radioactive waste, thus no Member State shall ever be obliged to accept imports of any kind of radioactive waste from other Member States.
