Ireland is taking part in this [instrument] in accordance with Article 5(1) of Protocol No 19 on the Schengen acquis integrated into the framework of the European Union, annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and Article 6(2) of Council Decision 2002/192/EC of 28 February 2002 concerning Ireland's request to take part in some of the provisions of the Schengen acquis*.

(5) La présente décision-cadre devrait, avec les autres instruments déjà approuvés par le Conseil et cités ci-après, contribuer à lutter contre la fraude et la contrefaçon des moyens de paiement autres que les espèces: l'action commune 98/428/JAI concernant la création d'un Réseau judiciaire européen(5); l'action commune 98/733/JAI, relative à l'incrimination de la participation à une organisation criminelle dans les États membres de l'Union européenne(6); l'action commune 98/699/JAI concernant l'identification, le dépistage, le gel ou la saisie et la confiscation des instruments et des produits du crime(7), ainsi que la décision du Conseil du 29 avril 1999 étendant le mandat d'Europol à la lutte contre le faux monnayage et la falsification des moyens de paiement(8).
(5) This Framework Decision should assist in the fight against fraud and counterfeiting involving non-cash means of payment together with other instruments already agreed by the Council such as Joint Action 98/428/JHA on the creation of a European Judicial Network(5), Joint Action 98/733/JHA on making it a criminal offence to participate in a criminal organisation in the Member States of the European Union(6), Joint Action 98/699/JHA on money laundering, the identification, tracing, freezing, seizing and confiscation of instrumentalities and the proceeds from crime(7), as well as the Decision of 29 April 1999 extending Europol's mandate to deal with forgery of money and means of payment(8).
