Pour les opérations de fonds propres, la garantie de l’Union peut être utilisée pour soutenir des investissements directs dans des entreprises ou projets individuels (investissements directs sous forme de fonds propres) ou des financements destinés à des fonds ou des risques de portefeuille analogues (portefeuille sous forme de fonds propres), dans la mesure où la BEI investit à égalité de rang pour son propre risque également.
For equity-type operations, the EU guarantee may be used to support direct investments in individual companies or projects (Equity-Type Direct Investments) or financing for funds or analogous portfolio risks (Equity-Type Portfolio), provided that the EIB invests on a pari passu basis for its own risk as well.

Since Germany committed to notify the aid for the mentioned future project SF III in Freiberg Saxonia separately and make it conditional to Commission approval, the Commission does not need to take a position in the present decision on whether the notified project forms a single investment project with the future project SF III.

4. Sans préjudice des obligations figurant aux paragraphes 1 à 3, chaque fois que des aides individuelles sont accordées au titre d’un régime d’aide existant pour des projets de recherche et de développement couverts par l'article 31 et que les aides individuelles sont supérieures à 3 millions d’euros, et chaque fois que des aides régionales à l’investissement sont accordées, au titre d’un régime d’aide existant pour de grands projets d’investissement, qui ne sont pas soumises à l'obligation de notification prévue à l’article 6, les États membres fournissent à la Commission, dans les 20 jours ouvrables suivant le jour d’octroi de l’aide par l’autorité compétente, les informations succinctes requises au moyen du formulaire type prévu à l'annexe II et de l'application informatique établie par la Commission.
4. Without prejudice to the obligations contained in paragraphs 1, 2 and 3, whenever individual aid is granted under an existing aid scheme for research and development projects covered by Article 31 and the individual aid exceeds EUR 3 million and whenever individual regional investment aid is granted, on the basis of an existing aid scheme for large investment projects, which is not individually notifiable pursuant to Article 6, the Member States shall, within 20 working days from the day on which the aid is granted by the competent authority, provide the Commission with the summary information requested in the standard form laid down in Annex II, via the established Commission IT application.
