The new negotiating mandate should include specific references to: the structured participation of civil society in the new political dialogue (proposing the holding of regular conferences with the representatives of organised civil society in both the EU and Mercosur); the granting of observer status to the representatives of civil society at interministerial meetings; and the active participation of those representatives in the relevant sectoral committees, subcommittees and forums, at all stages of discussion, negotiation and monitoring of the process;
