La Commission européenne a renvoyé l'examen, au regard du règlement communautaire sur les concentrations, du projet de rachat d'«Ish», l'exploitant du réseau câblé du Land de Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie, par «Iesy», l'exploitant du réseau câblé du Land de Hesse, à l'autorité de concurrence allemande (le Bundeskartellamt), essentiellement parce que les deux sociétés exercent leurs activités exclusivement en Allemagne. Le Bundeskartellamt va maintenant examiner si l'opération soulève des problèmes de concurrence dans ce pays.
The European Commission has referred the examination under the EU Merger Regulation of the proposed acquisition of the North Rhine-Westphalian network cable operator ‘Ish’ by the Hessian cable operator ‘Iesy’ to the German competition authority (the Bundeskartellamt) mainly because both undertakings are exclusively active in Germany. The Bundeskartellamt will now examine whether the merger leads to competition problems in Germany.
