Supports the UN Special Rapporteur’s report to the 69th session of the UN General Assembly on the human rights situation in Myanmar, which recognises the progress made so far while identifying remaining areas of major concern; calls on the Myanmar Government to mainstream human rights into the country’s institutional and legal framework and all policy areas, and to respect freedom of expression and assembly so that the people can express their views freely on government policies without fear, intimidation or harassment; calls on the Human Rights Council to renew the mandate of the Special Rapporteur under Item 4, to urge the Government of Myanmar to mainstream human rights into the country’s institutional, legal and all policy areas and to respect freedom of expression and assembly so that the people can express their views freely on government policies without fear, intimidation or harassment, to reiterate its serious concern at the situation of the Rohingya minority in Rakhine State and call for full, transparent and independent investigations into all reports of human rights violations and abuses against the Rohingya minority, and to accelerate the process of opening a country office of the OHCHR with full monitoring and reporting mandate;

Stresses that the fundamental right to freedom of expression and freedom of the media is not only reserved for traditional media, but also covers social media and other forms of new media; underlines the importance of ensuring freedom of expression and information on the internet, notably through guaranteeing net neutrality, and consequently calls on the EU and the Member States to ensure that these rights and freedoms are fully respected on the internet in relation to the unrestricted access to and provision and circulation of information; warns against any attempts by authorities to require registration or authorisation or curb content alleged by them to be harmful; acknowledges that the provision of internet services by public service media contributes to their mission of ensuring that citizens are able to access information and form their opinions from a variety of sources;

Nous invitons donc le gouvernement égyptien à mettre fin à la loi d'urgence afin que tout citoyen jouisse pleinement des droits qui sont les siens, que l'orientation sexuelle, la liberté de religion et la liberté d'opinion puissent s'exprimer sans être assimilées à des crimes et que la liberté d'association soit assurée afin que les défenseurs des libertés ne soient plus persécutés.
We therefore urge the Egyptian Government to put an end to the emergency law to allow all citizens to fully enjoy their lawful rights, to allow sexual orientation, freedom of religion and freedom of opinion to be expressed without being equated to crimes and to allow the freedom of association to be guaranteed so that civil liberties campaigners will no longer be persecuted.

Nous invitons donc le gouvernement égyptien à mettre fin à cette loi d'urgence, afin qu'hommes et femmes jouissent pleinement de tous leurs droits, que l'orientation sexuelle, la liberté de religion, la liberté d'opinion puissent s'exprimer sans criminalisation.
We call upon the government of Egypt to repeal this emergency law, so men and women can enjoy all their rights. This would mean that people would not be criminalised on the grounds of their sexual orientation, their religion or their opinion.
