Je suis heureux que le ministre ait mentionné qu'il est à la Chambre depuis 1984, car lui-même et le reste de la joyeuse bande de députés de l'opposition de l'époque cherchaient activement à contrecarrer les efforts du gouvernement conservateur visant à donner une certaine vision économique au gouvernement du Canada.
I am glad the hon. minister cited that he had been a member of the House since 1984 because he and his merry band of opposition members at that time were actively fighting and trying to thwart the attempts of the Conservative government to bring some level of economic vision into the Government of Canada.
