4. 4. If the contract is concluded through a means of distance communication which allows limited space or time to display the information, the trader shall provide, on that particular means prior to the conclusion of such a contract, at least the pre-contractual information regarding the main characteristics of the goods or services, the identity of the trader, the total price, the right of withdrawal, the duration of the contract and, if the contract is of indeterminate duration, the conditions for terminating the contract, as referred to in points (a), (b), (e), (h) and (o) of Article 6(1).

3. Lorsque le contrat a été conclu, à la demande du consommateur, en recourant à un moyen de communication à distance qui ne permet pas de fournir les informations requises conformément au paragraphe 1, notamment dans le cas visé au paragraphe 2, le prêteur fournit au consommateur la totalité des informations précontractuelles par le biais du formulaire concernant les «informations normalisées européennes en matière de crédit aux consommateurs» immédiatement après la conclusion du contrat de crédit.
3. If the agreement has been concluded at the consumer's request using a means of distance communication which does not enable the information to be provided in accordance with paragraph 1, in particular in the case referred to in paragraph 2, the creditor shall provide the consumer with the full pre-contractual information using the Standard European Consumer Credit Information form immediately after the conclusion of the credit agreement.

The European Commission has already taken steps in order to improve the quality of pre-contractual information available to consumers, for instance in the Standard European Consumer Credit Information Sheet, annexed to the new Consumer Credit Directive,[23] and in the Key Investor Information document, being tested for the revision of the UCITS Directive.[24] In the area of mortgages, the examination of the European Standard Information Sheet aims to improve the presentation of pre-contractual information to consumers.[25] The Commission Communication on Packaged Retail Investment Products proposes measures to deliver clear, comparable pre-contractual information to investors of these products.[26] The impact of these measures is to standardise the presentation of pre-contractual information in a way which makes it easier for the consumer to compare the offers of different providers.
