The accompanying proposal for a revised NEC Directive extends the policy horizon to 2030, with two important interim milestones: for 2020, transposition of the EU's new international obligations agreed under the amended Gothenburg Protocol; and for 2025, intermediate reduction obligations to maintain the trajectory towards 2030.
