WHEREAS the Council of the European Union has adopted Council Regulation (EC) No 2725/2000 of 11 December 2000 concerning the establishment of ‘Eurodac’ for the comparison of fingerprints for the effective application of the Dublin Convention with a view to helping to determine the Contracting Party responsible for examining an asylum application in accordance with the Dublin Convention (hereinafter referred to as the Eurodac Regulation) and Council Regulation (EC) No 407/2002 of 28 February 2002 laying down certain rules to implement Regulation (EC) No 2725/2000 concerning the establishment of ‘Eurodac’ for the comparison of fingerprints for the effective application of the Dublin Convention (hereinafter referred to as the Eurodac implementing Regulation).

La Conférence convient que dans le cadre des travaux prévus aux articles K.1 et K.3 des dispositions sur la coopération dans les domaines de la justice et des affaires intérieures, le Conseil examinera en priorité les questions concernant la politique d'asile des États membres, avec pour objectif d'adopter, pour le début de 1993, une action commune visant à en harmoniser des aspects, à la lumière du programme de travail et de l'échéancier contenus dans le rapport sur l'asile établi à la demande du Conseil européen de Luxembourg des 28 et 29 juin 1991.
1. The Conference agrees that, in the context of the proceedings provided for in Articles K.1 and K.3 of the provisions on cooperation in the fields of justice and home affairs, the Council will consider as a matter of priority questions concerning Member States' asylum policies, with the aim of adopting, by the beginning of 1993, common action to harmonize aspects of them, in the light of the work programme and timetable contained in the report on asylum drawn up at the request of the European Council meeting in Luxembourg on 28 and 29 June 1991.
