IMCO further refers to another amendment (AM 2) which adds to the text proposed by the Commission in the first recital "Article 169(1) and Article 169(2)(a) TFEU provide that the Union is to contribute to the attainment of a high level of consumer protection through the measures adopted pursuant to Article 114 thereof" the expression "inter alia", so that the last half sentence now reads "inter alia through the measures adopted pursuant to Article 114 thereof".
