J’apprécie également la priorité accordée aux sites transnationaux qui représentent un défi très intéressant pour l’Europe, et le rôle dévolu au Comité des régions, considéré comme un élément de la politique de subsidiarité; par ailleurs, je me réjouis de l’importance accordée à l’indispensable engagement des États membres, notamment des municipalités et des régions, dans le processus de sélection de façon à éviter un engagement partiel.
I also appreciate the priority given to transnational sites, which will be a very interesting challenge for Europe, and the role assigned to the Committee of the Regions as part of an approach of subsidiarity, as well as the emphasis on the necessary involvement of Member States in the selection phase, including municipalities and regions, in order to avoid their being only partially involved.
