Helmut Kohl, l’ancien chancelier fédéral allemand, a dit un jour qu’il souhaitait voir appliquer aux importations de produits alimentaires les mêmes conditions qui s’appliquaient déjà à l’industrie automobile, à savoir que les voitures provenant du Japon, des États-Unis et de Corée pouvaient être importées en Allemagne, mais ne pouvaient circuler sur les routes que si elles respectaient les normes techniques élevées imposées dans ce pays.
Helmut Kohl, the former German Federal Chancellor, once said that he would like to see apply to food imports what already applied in the case of the motor industry, with cars from Japan, the USA, and Korea being allowed to be imported into Germany, but allowed to be driven on the roads only if they comply with the high technical standards that are imposed here.
