Suggests that the Commission coordinate a consultation and dialogue process for future macro-regional strategies; takes the view that lack of cooperation or the need to strengthen existing cooperation between European territories belonging to different Member States but the same services and working area should be the basis for identifying priority areas; considers that the result of this dialogue should be a ‘projected European macro-regions map’, mainly coordinated with the Member States and the regions concerned, which would not be binding and could change depending on local dynamics;

In this Communication, the Commission expresses the opinion that full implementation of the macroeconomic part of the broad guidelines on economic policy would enable investment-led growth of 3-3.5% per year to be achieved over the period 1995-2000.
