Definition: An ill-defined disorder of uncertain nosological validity. The category is designed to include a group of children with severe mental retardation (IQ below 35) who show major problems in hyperactivity and in attention, as well as stereotyped behaviours. They tend not to benefit from stimulant drugs (unlike those with an IQ in the normal range) and may exhibit a severe dysphoric reaction (sometimes with psychomotor retardation) when given stimulants. In adolescence, the overactivity tends to be replaced by underactivity (a pattern that is not usual in hyperkinetic children with normal intelligence). This syndrome is also often associated with a variety of developmental delays, either specific or global. The extent to which the behavioural pattern is a function of low IQ or of organic brain damage is not known.

Definition: Conduct disorder, usually occurring in younger children, primarily characterized by markedly defiant, disobedient, disruptive behaviour that does not include delinquent acts or the more extreme forms of aggressive or dissocial behaviour. The disorder requires that the overall criteria for F91.- be met; even severely mischievous or naughty behaviour is not in itself sufficient for diagnosis. Caution should be employed before using this category, especially with older children, because clinically significant conduct disorder will usually be accompanied by dissocial or aggressive behaviour that goes beyond mere defiance, disobedience, or disruptiveness.

Les enfants, les petits-enfants et, oui, les arrière-petits-enfants des anciens combattants ne peuvent pas toujours venir visiter le musée ici, à Ottawa, et si de nombreux artefacts, tableaux et documents pouvaient faire le tour du Canada, ce serait un énorme atout pour les personnes qui s'intéressent à la contribution militaire de leurs ancêtres.
It is not always possible for the children, grandchildren, and, yes, great-grandchildren of war veterans to visit the museum here in Ottawa, and if many of the artefacts, paintings and stories could be taken out to cities across Canada, it would be a tremendous asset to those who are interested in the military contribution of their ancestors.
