3. insiste sur les dommages irréversibles que pourrait subir le parc national des Virunga des suites de la prospection et de l'exploitation pétrolières ou d'autres activités illégales; juge inacceptable que des concessions pétrolières aient été accordées à la société française Total et à la société britannique SOCO International en 2007 dans le parc naturel des Virunga, en violation de la convention de Paris sur la protection du patrimoine mondial culturel et naturel, de la convention de 1992 sur la diversité biologique, de la convention de Ramsar et de la législation congolaise; rappelle que si Total a accepté de ne jamais prospecter dans les limites du parc (le gouvernement congolais dût-il les modifier), SOCO International a prospecté dans le parc et achevé, en juillet 2014, une exploration sismique dont les résultats devraient bientôt être remis au gouvernement congolais, qui décidera alors de la poursuite éventuelle des travaux d'exploration;

Emphasises that irreversible damage to the VNP could occur as a result of the exploration and exploitation of oil or other illegal activities; deems it unacceptable that oil concessions in the VNP were granted in 2007 to the French oil company TOTAL and the British oil company SOCO International, in violation of the Paris Convention on the Protection of World Cultural and Natural Heritage, the 1992 Convention on Biological Diversity, the Ramsar Convention and Congolese law, recalls that, while TOTAL agreed never to explore within the boundaries of the VNP (even if the Congolese Government decides to change the boundaries), SOCO International has carried out oil exploration in the VNP and concluded a seismic survey in July 2014, the results of which are expected to be handed over soon to the Congolese Government, which will then decide whether to explore further;
