Le Parlement a voté des amendements instituant de nouvelles fautes disciplinaires et renforçant les sanctions existantes. Ils ont étendu le rôle du ministre de la justice et du procureur général au cours de la procédure disciplinaire et accru l'indépendance de l'inspection judiciaire[30]. Il est désormais loisible à cette dernière de centrer son action sur des enquêtes disciplinaires mieux ciblées, plus rapides et plus proactives, et de disposer d'une voix consultative plus forte en ce qui concerne les lacunes dans l'organisation, les procédures et la pratique judiciaires.
Parliament passed amendments introducing new disciplinary offences and strengthening existing sanctions; they extended the role of the Minister of Justice and of the General Prosecutor in the course of disciplinary proceedings and increased the independence of the Judicial Inspection.[30] The judicial inspectorate now has the opportunity to refocus on more targeted, swift and pro-active disciplinary investigations, and to develop a stronger advisory capacity within the inspectorate for shortcomings of judicial organisation, procedures and practice.

The remaining 10 amendments incorporated in part or in spirit are concerned with the precautionary principle (amendment 2), the protection of public health and ecosystems (amendment 6), the provision of information to operators and consumers (amendment 35), the exemption of genetically modified micro-organisms (GMMs) from the regulation’s scope (amendment 12), the receipt of pre-packaged products (amendment 24), sample checks and testing (quantitative and qualitative) (amendment 29), the use of comitology for guidance on sampling and testing, but without publication of such guidance (amendment 30), registers with information on GMOs (amendment 31) and the work of the Community Reference Laboratory (amendment 47).
