Instructs its President to forward this resolution to the Council, the Commission, the governments and parliaments of the Member States, the Co-Presidents of the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly, the President of the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly and the Co-Presidents of the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the Director of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.

Pour l’avenir, Monsieur le Président, la commission du développement propose, essentiellement, d’inviter l’assemblée et son bureau à poursuivre l’aménagement de l’heure des questions pour la rendre plus informelle et plus vivante; à rééquilibrer l’ordre du jour des sessions et à accorder plus de temps de parole aux membres de l’assemblée; à veiller à une meilleure continuité entre les sessions et à renforcer pour ce faire l’infrastructure des commissions permanentes; à améliorer la mise à disposition des documents, notamment par un plus large recours à l’Internet; à développer le rôle de l’assemblée dans la mise en œuvre du dialogue politique prévu à l’article 8 de l’accord de Cotonou; à poursuivre ses travaux sur les droits de l’homme en y associant plus étroitement la société civile; à concrétiser l’envoi au Zimbabwe d’une délégation paritaire librement composée, à condition qu’elle puisse se déplacer sans entrave et rencontrer qui elle veut; à développer le rôle de l’assemblée comme forum de dialogue auprès de l’Organisation mondiale du commerce; enfin à prendre en compte le souhait des membres de l’assemblée que les sessions en Europe puissent se tenir dans de bonnes conditions, en dehors des lieux de travail du Parlement européen.
For the future, Mr President, the Committee on Development and Cooperation basically proposes to invite the Assembly and its Bureau to continue to organise Question Time to make it livelier and more informal; to re-balance the agenda of the sessions and to give more speaking time to Members of the Assembly; to ensure better continuity between sessions by strengthening the facilities of the Standing Committees; to improve the availability of documents, in particular via greater use of the Internet; to develop the role of the Assembly in the implementation of the political dialogue provided for in Article 8 of the Cotonou Agreement; to continue its work on human rights through greater involvement of civil society; to make practical arrangements for sending to Zimbabwe a joint delegation, freely chosen, provided that it can move around freely and meet anyone it wishes; to develop the role of the Assembly as a forum for dialogue with the World Trade Organisation; and, finally to take into consideration the desire of Members of the Assembly that the sessions in Europe take place under good conditions, outside of the workplaces of the European Parliament.

La Commission envisage de créer une assemblée permanente des autorités de désignation des États membres afin de faciliter l'échange des meilleures pratiques en matière d'évaluation, de désignation et de surveillance des organismes notifiés.
The Commission intends to establish a permanent forum of Member States' authorities responsible for designation, in order to facilitate the exchange of best practices for the assessment, designation and surveillance of notified bodies.
