L'Union européenne et l'Inde devraient également coordonner et harmoniser leurs positions au niveau de la préparation, de la négociation et de la mise en oeuvre des grandes conventions et conférences multilatérales (sur la sécurité, le commerce, l'environnement, le développement et les droits de l'homme) et faciliter les relations avec d'autres membres des Nations unies.
The EU and India should co-ordinate and harmonise positions in the preparation, negotiation and implementation of major multilateral conventions and conferences (on security, trade, environment, development and human rights) and facilitate bridge building with other United Nations (UN) members.

Given that it is more than 15 years since the WTO Ministerial Decision on Trade and Environment, taken at Marrakesh on 15 April 1994, calls on the Commission to present at the latest by mid-2011 to the European Parliament and the Council a report assessing the extent to which the WTO's Committee on Trade and Environment has fulfilled its remit as set out in that Decision and its conclusions as to what more needs to be done, particularly in the context of the global dialogue on Climate Change mitigation and adaptation and the WTO;

Takes the view that the proposed exercise should focus first and foremost on the very aims of the multilateral trade system, to ensure that they are mutually supportive and consistent with the action being taken by other international organisations; considers in particular that the coordination of WTO activities with those of the International Labour Organization ( ILO), the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the Kyoto programme on renewable energy, should be strengthened, in order to ensure greater consistency in the decision-making processes of those organisations; in this connection, believes that the ILO should be granted observer status before the WTO and that a committee on trade and decent employment should be set up modelled on the Committee on Trade and Environment;

Il convient par ailleurs de conclure des partenariats et de nouer des alliances dans la gestion des dossiers mondiaux comme la réforme de l'Organisation des Nations unies, l'Organisation Mondiale du Commerce, l'environnement et d'autres fléaux comme la criminalité internationale, le terrorisme ou la propagation du sida.
It is also important to conclude partnerships and build alliances in addressing global issues such as the reform of the United Nations, the World Trade Organisation, the environment and other challenges, for example international crime, terrorism and the spread of AIDS.
