On the first day of hearings two constitutional authorities from McGill University appeared before the joint committee. In response to my questioning they agreed, according to an article in the Montreal Gazette, that Protestant and Catholic instruction have no place in the school system and that the charter through court cases will bring an end to religion being taught in the schools.
