Comme le Commissaire Bolkestein l'avait déjà annoncé au Parlement européen en 2000, la Commission a l'intention de proposer que ce délai maximal d'exécution par défaut de 6 jours ouvrables soit considérablement raccourci.
As already announced by Commissioner Bolkestein before the European Parliament in 2000, the Commission intends to propose shortening the default maximum execution time from the current 6 working days to a much shorter period.

En vertu de l’article 300 du Traité, cette modification de la directive, que la Commission continue à démentir, aurait nécessité l’assentiment du Parlement - le colégislateur de la directive -, comme le commissaire Bolkestein l’avait déjà annoncé à la commission des libertés et des droits des citoyens, de la justice et des affaires intérieures le 9 septembre 2003, mais cela ne s’est pas produit.
Pursuant to Article 300 of the Treaty, this change to the directive, which the Commission continues to deny, would have entailed Parliament – the colegislator of the directive – giving its assent, as Commissioner Bolkestein had already announced to the Committee on Citizens’ Freedoms and Rights, Justice and Home Affairs on 9 September 2003, which did not happen.

The proposal to which I have already referred was brought in by the former Prodi Commission, the Commissioner responsible for it being Frits Bolkestein, and it has, since February 2004, been the subject of in-depth discussion in the relevant working party of the Council.
