IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

Les décisions de la Commission 2005/734/CE (7), 2006/415/CE (8) et 2007/25/CE (9) ainsi que la décision d'exécution 2013/657/UE de la Commission (10) ont été adoptées en rapport avec des foyers d'influenza aviaire hautement pathogène du sous-type H5N1 en vue de protéger la santé animale et humaine dans l'Union.
Commission Decisions 2005/734/EC (7), 2006/415/EC (8), 2007/25/EC (9) and Commission Implementing Decision 2013/657/EU (10) were adopted in relation to outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza of the subtype H5N1 with a view to protecting animal and human health in the Union.

Calls on the Commission to give more encouragement in the Arab world to respect for the principle of the rule of law and the legal reform movement; considers that this should be done with due regard for the values deriving from the universal system of human rights, and that it should involve a political reform which seeks to legalise the action of opposition movements on the basis of the existing institutions – without undermining the validity of those institutions – in line with the action plans under the European Neighbourhood Policy and the decisions taken in the context of the Barcelona Process; encourages the Commission to make full use of the possibilities offered by the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) to support civil society and political reform movements in the region;

Welcomes and supports the decision taken at the General Affairs and External Relations Council meeting on 3 October 2005 to impose an embargo on the export to Uzbekistan of arms and military equipment and other equipment that might be used for internal repression, to introduce restrictions on the admission to the EU of Uzbek nationals directly responsible for the Andijan repression and to suspend sine die all scheduled technical meetings under the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, as well as the Commission's reorientation and reduction of its TACIS programme in order to support an increased focus on the needs of the population, democracy and human rights as well as fostering links with Uzbek civil society;
