Le Conseil du Bureau de Commerce de Montréal nommera chaque année cinq personnes qui constitueront un bureau d’examinateurs, lequel examinera tous les candidats à l’emploi de gardien de port et d’adjoint, lorsqu’il deviendra nécessaire de remplir quelqu’un de ces emplois, et fera rapport du résultat de cet examen au Conseil, après quoi le Conseil, agissant au nom du Bureau de Commence de Montréal, recommandera au Gouverneur en conseil, pour être nommée à l’emploi de gardien de port de Montréal, l’une des personnes dont le bureau d’examinateurs aura fait rapport comme étant dignes et capables de le remplir; et, sur ce, cette personne pourra être nommée à cet emploi par le Gouverneur; et le Conseil du Bureau de Commerce nommera à l’emploi d’adjoint du gardien de port telle personne ou telles personnes, parmi celles dont le dit bureau d’examinateurs aura fait rapport comme étant dignes et capables de remplir cet emploi, que le dit Conseil jugera à propos.
3. The Council of the Board of Trade at Montreal shall annually appoint five persons, who shall constitute a Board of Examiners, who shall examine all candidates for the offices of Port Warden and Deputy Port Warden, when any appointment to either office requires to be made, and shall report the result of such examination to the said council, whereupon the said council, acting for and on behalf of the Board of Trade at Montreal shall recommend to the Governor in Council, for appointment to the office of Port Warden of Montreal, one of such persons as shall be reported by the said Board of Examiners as being a fit and proper person to be such Port Warden; and thereupon such person may be appointed to the said office by the Governor: and the Council of the Board of Trade shall appoint to the office of Deputy Port Warden such person or persons, from among those reported by the said Board of Examiners as being fit and proper persons for the said office, as the said council shall deem expedient.

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport, pursuant to sections 28 and 33Footnote of An Act to amend and consolidate the Acts relating to the office of Port Warden for the Harbour of MontrealFootnote , is pleased hereby to approve the repeal of the Montreal Port Warden’s Tariff of Fees Order, approved by Order in Council P.C. 1985-3546 of December 5, 1985Footnote , and to approve the annexed Order establishing the tariff of fees and charges to be paid to the Port Warden of the Harbour of Montreal for services performed by the Port Warden or any Deputy Port Warden, made by the Council of the Board of Trade at the City of Montreal, on the recommendation of the Board of Examiners, in substitution therefor.
