La directive sur le regroupement familial [10], celle sur les résidents de longue durée [11] et celle sur les titres de séjour délivrés aux victimes de l'aide à l'immigration clandestine ou de la traite des êtres humains [12] ont déjà été adoptées, la directive sur l'admission des étudiants a fait l'objet d'un accord politique le 30 mars 2004, et d'autres propositions suivent leur cours, parmi lesquelles une directive sur l'admission des ressortissants de pays tiers aux fins de recherche scientifique et deux propositions de recommandations du Conseil destinées à faciliter l'admission des chercheurs [13].
The Directive on family reunification [10], the Directive on long-term residents [11] and the Directive on residence permits for victims of trafficking and smuggling [12] have already been adopted. Political agreement was reached on 30 March 2004 with respect to the Directive on the admission of students. Other proposals in the pipeline are the Directive on the admission of third country nationals to carry out scientific research and two proposals for Council Recommendations to facilitate the admission of researchers [13].

85. 85. Subject to the approval of the Governor in Council, the Minister may enter into an agreement with the government of a province to pay to the province in accordance with the terms of the agreement, moneys to be used by the province to make payments in accordance with the terms of the agreement to persons in the province who are eligible to receive payments from the province in respect of qualities or kinds of petroleum, and in such case no compensation under this Division shall be paid to a person who is, under the agreement, eligible to receive a payment from the province in respect of those qualities or kinds of petroleum.

Monitoring the implementation of decisions taken by the Council concerning admission of third-country nationals "THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, Having regard to Article K.3(2)(a) of the Treaty on European Union, Having regard to the priority work programme adopted by the Council on 30 November 1993 in Brussels, calling in particular for the preparation of an annual report on achievements in the field of justice and home affairs, Whereas Article K.1(3)(a) of the Treaty on European Union states that Member States shall regard conditions of entry by nationals of third countries on the territory of Member States as a matter of common interest; Whereas the texts adopted by the Council concerning the admission of third-country nationals [3] express a common political will; Whereas monitoring of the implementation of the provisions contained in these texts will reveal the practical effect of the Council's work in this matter and provide useful lessons for its future work; Whereas Member States consequently intend to agree on practical arrangements for such monitoring, HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS: I. Preparation of a questionnaire Each year, the Presidency shall forward to the Member States a questionnaire designed to show how they have implemented the Resolutions and acts already adopted by the Council concerning the admission of third-country nationals.
