Upon the expiry of the period set forth in paragraph 1, as well as any subsequent period of renewal under this paragraph, the Agreement shall be renewed for a subsequent period of seven years unless one of the Parties notifies the other in writing through diplomatic channels, at least 12 months in advance, of its intention not to renew the Agreement.

Si l’Union européenne et ses États membres décident de dénoncer l’accord conformément à l’article 3 de l’accord ou d’interrompre son application provisoire, ou de retirer des notifications communiquées à cet effet, la Commission, avant de communiquer la notification par la voie diplomatique aux États-Unis d’Amérique, en informe immédiatement l’Islande et la Norvège.
