s'associer au Parlement européen dans le dialogue avec les parlements nationaux sur les priorités à poursuivre pour la période 2010-2014, en prenant en compte les problèmes rencontrés dans la mise en œuvre des programmes de Tampere et de La Haye, les travaux engagés au sein du Conseil ainsi que les premières indications stratégiques du Conseil européen en matière d'immigration, d'asile et d'intégration; en vue de conclure cette première phase du dialogue lors du débat annuel du Parlement européen sur les progrès réalisés dans l'espace de liberté, de sécurité et de justice, et en vue de donner lieu, par la suite, à une communication de la Commission, étant entendu qu'il appartiendra au Parlement européen nouvellement élu et au Conseil européen d'arrêter le programme définitif en temps utile;
join Parliament in its dialogue with national parliaments on the priorities for the period 2010-2014, taking into account the problems encountered in implementing the Tampere and Hague Programmes, the work carried out within the Council and the European Council's initial strategic indications regarding immigration, asylum and integration; with a view to completing this initial phase of dialogue at Parliament's annual debate on the progress made in 2008 in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice and with a view to a Commission communication subsequently being issued, on the understanding that it will be for the newly elected Parliament and the European Council to adopt the final programme at the appropriate time;

However, the focus of work on asylum statistics in 2002 must already be on key issues in the future Action Plan such as the implementation of new publication rules, the preparation of a first public annual report on Community statistics in the field of asylum and migration.
