63 (1) Every ship that is required by the Ship Station (Radio) Regulations, 1999 to be equipped with a VHF radio installation capable of digital selective calling (DSC) and every ship of 150 tons or more that is engaged on an international voyage or a voyage other than a minor waters voyage or a home-trade voyage, Class IV, shall be fitted with a receiver for a global navigation satellite system or a terrestrial radionavigation system, or other means, that can be used at all times throughout the intended voyage to establish and update the ship’s position by automatic means.
