TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

33. invite la Commission à rédiger un Livre blanc sur la protection des forêts dans l'Union européenne en tenant compte des résultats de la consultation publique sur le Livre vert, de la nécessité largement comprise de se préparer aux changements climatiques, de l'étude sur les options politiques et de l'étude sur les options d'adaptation; est d'avis que le Livre vert, en plus de confirmer l'apport des forêts à l'économie par le canal des produits du bois, des biens et services non ligneux, devrait mettre l'accent sur l'intérêt de préserver et de développer les forêts européennes car elles aident les sociétés européennes à atténuer le changement climatique et à s'adapter à ses effets; estime en outre qu'un degré supérieur de protection doit être assuré pour les habitats de qualité et les forêts qui jouent un rôle dans la protection contre les inondations, les glissements de terrain, les incendies, la désertification, la perte de biodiversité et les catastrophes climatiques extrêmes; considère que des moyens financiers suffisants, l'échange de connaissances et la promotion de la recherche et de l'information sont des volets essentiels des propositions de la Commission;
33. Calls on the Commission to proceed with the drafting of a White Paper on Forest Protection in the EU, taking into account the results of the public consultation on the Green Paper, the widely perceived need to be prepared for climate change, the policy options study and the adaptation options study; considers that the White Paper, in addition to confirming the contribution of forests to the economy through wood and non-wood forest products and services, should focus on maintaining and increasing European forests, as they help European societies to mitigate climate change and adapt to its effects; considers further that a higher level of protection must be ensured for high-quality habitats and protective forests with functions in countering flooding, landslides, fires, desertification, loss of biodiversity and extreme weather catastrophes; considers adequate financial resources, knowledge exchange and the promotion of research and information to be indispensable aspects of the Commission's proposals;

2. préconise que le champ de la révision soit centré sur l'actualisation et la mise en cohérence des huit directives relatives à la protection du consommateur évoquées dans le livre vert; demande à la Commission de présenter au Parlement et au Conseil un rapport sur la mise en œuvre de la directive 2000/31/CE du Parlement européen et du Conseil du 8 juin 2000 relative à certains aspects juridiques des services de la société de l'information, et notamment du commerce électronique, dans le marché intérieur ("directive sur le commerce électronique") , rapport cernant les questions touchant à la confiance des consommateurs;
2. Recommends that the scope of the review concentrate on updating and creating coherence between the eight consumer protection directives named in the Green Paper; calls on the Commission to present, to Parliament and the Council, a report on the implementation of Directive 2000/31/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 June 2000 on certain legal aspects of information society services, in particular electronic commerce, in the Internal Market ('e-commerce Directive') , identifying questions relating to consumer confidence;

Il ressort des résultats de la consultation menée autour du livre vert "Information du secteur public dans la société de l'information" qu'il est nécessaire d'améliorer la consultation, la diffusion et l'exploitation des informations dont dispose le secteur public en Europe.
The outcome of the consultation carried out in relation to the Green Paper on "Public Sector Information in the Information society" indicated a need to improve access, dissemination and exploitation of public sector information in Europe.

(7) considérant que les communications mobiles et sans fil ont une importance stratégique non seulement pour le développement du secteur des télécommunications de la Communauté et pour la société de l'information, mais aussi pour l'économie et pour l'emploi dans la Communauté en général; que la Commission a adopté, le 3 décembre 1997, un livre vert sur la convergence des secteurs des télécommunications, des médias et des technologies de l'information, et les implications pour la réglementation; que, sur la base des consultations faisant suite à la publication de ce livre vert, la Commission tiendra compte des incidences de cette convergence sur l'UMTS, eu égard notamment au réexamen d'ici à 1999 de la réglementation communautaire dans le domaine des télécommunications;
(7) Whereas mobile and wireless communications are of strategic importance both for the development of the Community telecommunications industry and the information society as well as for the economy and employment in the Community as a whole; whereas on 3 December 1997 the Commission adopted a Green Paper on the convergence of the telecommunications, media and information technology sectors, and the implications for regulation; whereas on the basis of the consultations resulting from that Green Paper, the Commission will take into consideration the impact of convergence on UMTS considering, in particular, the review of Community telecommunications regulation by 1999;

5. demande à la Commission d"accélérer la rédaction en cours du Livre vert sur le rôle des bibliothèques dans la société de l"information et d"adopter des mesures détaillées sur la base des propositions et des analyses de ce Livre vert; estime que ce document, s"il est suffisamment complet, fournira une bonne base de discussion sur la façon dont les bibliothèques pourront, à plusieurs niveaux, relever les défis liés à la société de l"information et à sa citoyenneté ;
5. Calls on the Commission to accelerate work on the Green Paper on the Role of Libraries in the Information Society which is under preparation and engage in detailed activities on the basis of its proposals and consideration; as a thoroughly prepared document, it will provide a sound basis for debating how libraries can meet the challenges of the information society and citizenship thereof at many levels;

Cette commission s'est déjà prononcée en détail, à l'occasion des débats parlementaires, sur le Livre blanc de la Commission "Croissance, compétitivité et emploi", ainsi que sur le "Livre vert sur l'innovation", ou bien encore sur le rôle joué par le développement de la société de l'information dans l'ouverture de nouveaux créneaux économiques générateurs d'emplois.
During the relevant parliamentary discussions, our committee has already given a detailed account of its views on the Commission White Paper on growth, competitiveness and employment and its Green Paper on innovation, as well as on the role played by the emergence of the information society in opening up new economic sectors which generate new jobs.
