IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

considérant que, pour éviter une interruption dans les échanges commerciaux et en attendant qu'elles se soient notifié l'achèvement de leurs procédures respectives de ratification ou d'approbation dudit accord, comme prévu à l'article 18 paragraphe 1 deuxième alinéa, les deux parties sont convenues d'appliquer l'accord à titre provisoire à partir du 1er janvier 1997, conformément à un accord sous forme d'un échange de lettres;
Whereas, in order to avoid an interruption in trade and until such time as the two Parties notify each other of the completion of their respective procedures for ratification of the said Agreement as provided for in the second subparagraph of Article 18 (1) thereof, the two Parties have agreed to apply the Agreement provisionally as from 1 January 1997 in accordance with an Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters;
