1. This Regulation establishes a financial instrument for the environment (‘LIFE+’).

Les projets ayant un caractère novateur ou un effet de démonstration et se rapportant aux objectifs de la Communauté dans le domaine de l'environnement, y compris en termes d'élaboration et de diffusion des techniques, des savoir-faire ou des technologies les meilleurs, ainsi que les projets de campagnes de sensibilisation et de formations spéciales à l'intention des agents participant aux initiatives de prévention des incendies de forêts, devraient pouvoir prétendre à un financement communautaire au titre de LIFE+, sauf lorsqu'ils sont admissibles à un financement au titre d'autres instruments financiers de la Communauté.
Innovative or demonstration projects relating to Community environmental objectives, including the development or dissemination of best practice techniques, know-how or technologies, as well as projects for awareness-raising campaigns and special training for agents involved in forest fire prevention initiatives should be eligible for Community financing under LIFE+, except where they are eligible for funding under other Community financial instruments.
