Cette pétition se lit comme suit: Attendu que la protection du bien moral d'une société est une obligation naturelle et sérieuse qui incombe aux élus et qu'elle ne doit pas être assumée uniquement par les institutions et les chefs religieux; attendu que la défense du mariage traditionnel, soit le lien qui unit un homme et une femme, constitue un bien moral important; attendu que la définition du mariage correspond à une union durable entre un homme et une femme, à l'exclusion de toute autre forme d'union et qu'elle ne devrait pas être modifiée par une loi ou un tribunal; attendu que les récentes décisions rendues par les cours d'appel de l'Ontario et de la Colombie-Britannique redéfinissant le mariage de façon à inclure les unions entre conjoints de même sexe détruisent la définition légale du mariage traditionnel et compromettent la stabilité sociale, la santé et l'épanouissement futurs du pays, nous demandons au Parlement de prendre toutes les mesures nécessaires pour préserver la définition légale actuelle du mariage.
The petition says that: whereas protecting the moral good of society is a natural and serious obligation of elected officials and cannot be left only to religious leaders and institutions; whereas the defence of traditional marriage as the bond between one man and one women is a serious moral good; whereas marriage as the lasting union of a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others cannot and should not be modified by a legislative act or a court of law; and whereas the recent rulings of the appeal courts of Ontario and B.C. redefining marriage to include same sex partners destroys traditional marriage in law and endangers Canada's social stability and future vitality and health, we request that Parliament take whatever action is required to maintain the current definition of marriage in law, in perpetuity and to prevent any court from overturning or amending that definition.

Our resolution on gender mainstreaming proposes a whole range of actions to set benchmarks for the horizontal task of deliberately bringing women into the institutions, such as monitoring the success of leave for educational purposes, retraining, career and personal development, and so on.
