Dans cette optique, l'UE a proposé, en septembre 2015, sur une initiative des ministres européens des affaires étrangères, de supprimer la limite mensuelle d'importation d'huile d'olive tunisienne sur le marché européen, effectif depuis 2016, et d''introduire une mesure commerciale autonome accordant 35 000 tonnes supplémentaires à droit nul par an sur une période de deux ans (2016-2017) en complément du contingent de 56.700 tonnes déjà prévu dans l'accord d'association UE-Tunisie.
To that end, in September 2015 - at the initiative of the EU's foreign ministers - the EU proposed abolishing the monthly limit on imports to the EU of Tunisian olive oil, and allowing an additional 35 000 tonnes to be imported to the EU each year for a period of two years, effective since 2016 and to introduce emergency autonomous trade measures, providing a zero-duty tariff quota of 35 000 tonnes additional per year over a two-year period (2016-2017, 70 000 tonnes in total), in addition to the existing 56 700 tonnes provided for under the EU-Tunisia Association Agreement.

Lors de la session du Conseil d'association du 11 mai 2017, le ministre maltais des affaires étrangères, M. George Vella, a, au nom de la haute représentante, M Federica Mogherini, réaffirmé l'importance que l'UE attachait à sa coopération avec ce partenaire privilégié qu'est la Tunisie.
During the Association Council meeting on 11 May 2017, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta George Vella, on behalf of High Representative Federica Mogherini, reiterated the importance attached by the EU to its cooperation with Tunisia, its Privileged Partner.

L'article 15, paragraphe 7, du protocole no 4 à l'accord euro-méditerranéen établissant une association entre les Communautés européennes et leurs États membres, d'une part, et la République tunisienne, d'autre part (1) (ci-après dénommé «accord»), tel que modifié par la décision no 1/2012 du Conseil d'association UE-Tunisie du 20 février 2012 (2) permet, sous certaines conditions, la ristourne ou l'exonération partielle des droits de douane ou des taxes d'effet équivalent jusqu'au 31 décembre 2012.
Article 15(7) of Protocol No 4 to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement establishing an association between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Tunisia, of the other part (1), (‘the Agreement’), as amended by Decision No 1/2012 of the EU-Tunisia Association Council of 20 February 2012 (2), allows drawback or partial exemption from customs duties or taxes with equivalent effect, subject to certain conditions, until 31 December 2012.

During the Association Council meeting on 11 May, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta George Vella, on behalf of High Representative – Vice President Federica Mogherini, reiterated the importance of the cooperation with Tunisia, a Privileged Partner of the EU.

Today, the European Commission and the European External Action Service published their first report on the state of EU-Tunisia relations in 2015-2016, in accordance with the revised European Neighbourhood Policy and prior to the Association Council being held on 11 May 2017.

The Euro-Med Association Agreement between the European Communities and their Member States, on the one hand, and Tunisia, on the other hand (2) (‘the EU-Tunisia Association Agreement’), entered into force on 1 March 1998.

3. La Commission gère le décaissement de l'assistance macrofinancière de l'Union, dans le respect des accords ou autres conventions conclus entre le FMI et la Tunisie ainsi que des principes et objectifs fondamentaux en matière de réforme économique énoncés dans l'accord d'association UE-Tunisie et le plan d'action UE-Tunisie pour 2013-2017 convenus au titre de la politique européenne de voisinage.
3. The release of the Union's macro-financial assistance shall be managed by the Commission in a manner consistent with the agreements or understandings reached between the IMF and Tunisia, and with the key principles and objectives of economic reforms set out in the EU-Tunisia Association Agreement and the EU-Tunisia Action Plan for 2013-2017, agreed under the ENP.

CONSIDÉRANT que l'accord euro-méditerranéen établissant une association entre la Communauté européenne et ses États membres, d'une part, et la République tunisienne, d'autre part, ci-après dénommé «accord euro-méditerranéen», a été signé à Bruxelles le 17 juillet 1995, est entré en vigueur le 1er mars 1998 et a été notamment modifié par le protocole à l'accord euro-méditerranéen établissant une association entre la Communauté européenne et ses États membres, d'une part, et la République tunisienne, d'autre part,pour tenir compte de l'adhésion à l'Union européenne de la République tchèque, de la République d'Estonie, de la République de Chypre, de la République de Lettonie, de la République de Lituanie, de la République de Hongrie, de la République de Malte, de la République de Pologne, de la République de Slovénie et de la République slovaque (1) et par la décision no 1/2006 du Conseil d'association UE-Tunisie du 28 juillet 2006 modifiant le protocole no 4 à l'accord euro-méditerranéen, relatif à la définition de la notion de produits originaires et aux méthodes de coopération administrative (2);
CONSIDERING THAT The Euro-Mediterranean Agreement establishing an association between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Tunisia, of the other part, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement’ was signed in Brussels on 17 July 1995, entered into force on 1 March 1998 and was amended notably by the Protocol to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement establishing an association between the European Community and its Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Tunisia, of the other part, to take account of the accession of the Czech Republic, the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Cyprus, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Lithuania, the Republic of Hungary, the Republic of Malta, the Republic of Poland, the Republic of Slovenia and the Slovak Republic to the European Union (1) and by Decision No 1/2006 of the EU-Tunisia Association Council of 28 July 2006 amending Protocol 4 to the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement concerning the definition of the concept of originating products and methods of administrative cooperation (2);
