Sur motion de Serge Marcil, il est convenu avec consentement unanime, Que le Sous-comité sur l’étude du sport au Canada du Comité permanent du patrimoine canadien appuie l’organisme Olympic Air dans sa mission et dans l’atteinte de ses objectifs et recommande au secrétaire d’État au sport amateur d’entreprendre les démarches nécessaires auprès des ministères canadiens tels les Affaires étrangères, la Coopération internationale, Patrimoine canadien et le ministère des Affaires indiennes et du Nord afin d’obtenir de leur part des gestes concrets et positifs en faveur de Olympic Aid, le tout dans le respect des champs de compétences des provinces.
On motion of Serge Marcil, it was agreed by unanimous consent, That the Sub-committee on the Study of Sport in Canada of the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage support the organization Olympic Aid in its mission and in the achievement of its objectives, and recommend to the Secretary of State for Amateur Sport that the necessary approaches be made to such federal departments as Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Canadian Heritage and Indian and Northern Affairs to obtain from them their share of concrete and positive action in support of Olympic Aid, while respecting provincial areas of jurisdiction.

Que le Comité permanent des finances reçoive instruction d’entreprendre une étude sur l’inégalité des revenus au Canada et que cette étude inclue, sans toutefois s’y limiter, (i) un examen des systèmes canadiens fédéraux et provinciaux d’imposition du revenu des particuliers et des mesures de soutien au revenu, (ii) un examen des pratiques exemplaires visant à réduire l’inégalité des revenus et à augmenter le PIB par habitant, (iii) le recensement de toute lacune importante dans le régime fiscal fédéral et les mesures de soutien au revenu responsable de l’inégalité des revenus, ainsi que des mesures décourageant l’emploi rémunéré dans l’économie officielle qui pourraient exister dans le cadre d’un « cercle vicieux de l’aide sociale », (iv) la formulation de recommandations sur les meilleurs moyens d’améliorer l’égalité des chances et la prospérité pour tous les Canadiens; que le Comité fasse rapport de ses constatations à la Chambre dans l’année suivant l’adoption de cette motion.
That the Standing Committee on Finance be instructed to undertake a study on income inequality in Canada and that this study include, but not be limited to, (i) a review of Canada’s federal and provincial systems of personal income taxation and income supports, (ii) an examination of best practices that reduce income inequality and improve GDP per capita, (iii) the identification of any significant gaps in the federal system of taxation and income support that contribute to income inequality, as well as any significant disincentives to paid work in the formal economy that may exist as part of a “welfare trap”, (iv) recommendations on how best to improve the equality of opportunity and prosperity for all Canadians; and that the Committee report its findings to the House within one year of the adoption of this motion.

M St-Hilaire (Longueuil), appuyée par M. Dumas (Argenteuil Papineau Mirabel), propose, Que la Chambre exige du gouvernement qu'il mette les athlètes du sport amateur au coeur de ses préoccupations et qu'il s'engage à faire passer leurs intérêts avant ceux du sport professionnel considérant que le gouvernement a ignoré l'essentiel des recommandations du rapport du Sous-comité du Comité permanent du patrimoine canadien sur l'étude du sport amateur au Canada.
Ms. St-Hilaire (Longueuil), seconded by Mr. Dumas (Argenteuil Papineau Mirabel), moved, That, since the government ignored most of the recommendations by the Sub- Committee on the Study of Sport in Canada, a Sub-Committee of the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage, the House demand that the government place amateur athletes at the heart of its concerns and make a commitment to placing their interests before the interests of professional sport.
