The Federation raises awareness and fights against the phenomena of missing and sexually exploited children by facilitating communication between European organisations towards a more efficient approach, stimulating the creation of a European study centre to centralise and analyse data concerning these phenomena and promoting and conducting activities to improve the situation of minors, victims of disappearance and/or sexual abuse, and to change the legal norms, the mentality and behaviour in Europe.

IV. Surveillance de la situation épidémiologique dans la CommunautéConsidérant les importants travaux déjà réalisés en vue de l'amélioration du système général de collecte des données épidémiologiques, et notamment les conclusions du Conseil et des ministres de la santé, réunis au sein du Conseil, des 15 décembre 1988 et 16 mai 1989 (1), les États membres et la Commission sont invités, pour ce qui les concerne, à:- poursuivre l'amélioration du système général de collecte de données épidémiologiques, et notamment des systèmes nationaux de surveillance,-transmettre régulièrement au Centre européen pour la surveillance épidémiologique du SIDA (centre collaborateur de l'OMS à Paris) les données épidémiologiques disponibles et assurer un accès approprié à la base de données de ce Centre,-développer les études épidémiologiques coordonnées permettant d'évaluer la situation actuelle et la dynamique de l'épidémie,-prendre en compte ces informations dans l'élaboration ultérieure des stratégies de prévention et de soins,-concevoir, avec la participation d'experts désignés par les États membres et le Centre européen, des approches méthodologiques assurant une meilleure comparabilité des données épidémiologiques.
IV. Monitoring of the epidemiological situation in the CommunityIn the light of the considerable work already done to improve the general system for gathering epidemiological data, and notably the conclusions of the Council and the Ministers for Health meeting within the Council on 15 December 1988 and 16 May 1989 (1), the Member States and the Commission are requested, each as far as it is concerned, to:- continue improving the general system for gathering epidemiological data, and particularly national monitoring systems,-forward regularly to the European Centre for the Epidemiological Monitoring of AIDS (WHO-EC Collaboration Centre in Paris) the available epidemiological data and provide suitable access to the Centre's database,-develop coordinated epidemiological studies for assessing the present situation and the possible spread of the epidemic,-take account of the above information when subsequently developing strategies for prevention and care,-develop, together with experts designated by the Member States and the European Centre, methodological approaches to ensure greater comparability of epidemiological data.
