3. If it is decided, in accordance with the procedure set out in paragraph 2, to abrogate a derogation, the Council shall, acting with the unanimity of the Member States whose currency is the euro and the Member State concerned, on a proposal from the Commission and after consulting the European Central Bank, irrevocably fix the rate at which the euro shall be substituted for the currency of the Member State concerned, and take the other measures necessary for the introduction of the euro as the single currency in the Member State concerned.
3. Indien overeenkomstig de procedure van lid 2, wordt besloten tot intrekking van een derogatie, stelt de Raad met eenparigheid van stemmen van de lidstaten die de euro als munt hebben en de betrokken lidstaat, op voorstel van de Commissie en na raadpleging van de Europese Centrale Bank, onherroepelijk de koers vast waartegen de munteenheid van de betrokken lidstaat wordt vervangen door de Euro, en neemt hij de overige maatregelen die nodig zijn voor de invoering van de Euro als enige munteenheid in de betrokken lidstaat.

Pursuant to Council Decision 2006/495/EC of 11 July 2006 in accordance with Article 122(2) of the Treaty on the adoption by Slovenia of the single currency on January 2007 (3), Slovenia fulfils the necessary conditions for the adoption of the single currency and the derogation of Slovenia is abrogated with effect from 1 January 2007.

(2) Whereas, at the meeting of the European Council in Madrid on 15 and 16 December 1995, the decision was taken that the term 'ecu` used by the Treaty to refer to the European currency unit is a generic term; whereas the Governments of the 15 Member States have reached the common agreement that this decision is the agreed and definitive interpretation of the relevant Treaty provisions; whereas the name given to the European currency shall be the 'euro`; whereas the euro as the currency of the participating Member States shall be divided into one hundred sub-units with the name 'cent`; whereas the definition of the name 'cent` does not prevent the use of variants of this term in common usage in the Member States; whereas the European Council furthermore considered that the name of the single currency must be the same in all the official languages of the European Union, taking into account the existence of different alphabets;

(2) Whereas according to Council Regulation (EC) No 974/98 of 3 May 1998 on the introduction of the euro (3), the euro shall be the currency of the Member States which adopt the single currency as from 1 January 1999; whereas the introduction of the euro requires the adoption of the conversion rates at which the euro will be substituted for the national currencies and at which rates the euro will be divided into national currency units; whereas the conversion rates in Article 1 are the conversion rates referred to in the third indent of Article 1 of Regulation (EC) No 974/98;

2. For the purpose of this Regulation 'participating Member States` shall mean those Member States which adopt the single currency in accordance with the Treaty and 'non-participating Member States` shall mean those which have not adopted the single currency.
2. Voor de toepassing van deze verordening wordt onder "deelnemende lidstaten" de lidstaten verstaan die de ene munt overeenkomstig het Verdrag aannemen en onder "niet-deelnemende lidstaten" de lidstaten die de ene munt niet hebben aangenomen.
