Since then, other directives have been adopted covering workers’ health, the organisation of occupational health services, working conditions, young workers, temporary workers, and those manning ships, thereby fulfilling the International Labour Organisation Conventions.
Sindsdien zijn er ook andere richtlijnen aangenomen op gebieden als de gezondheid van werknemers, de organisatie van de diensten voor gezondheid op het werk, de bescherming van jonge werknemers, tijdelijke werknemers en scheepsbemanningen. This Directive implements the Agreement on Maritime Labour Convention, 2006, concluded on 19 May 2008 between the organisations representing management and labour in the maritime transport sector (European Community Shipowners’ Associations, ECSA and European Transport Workers’ Federation, ETF) as set out in the Annex.
Deze richtlijn dient ter tenuitvoerlegging van de overeenkomst inzake het verdrag betreffende maritieme arbeid die op 19 mei 2008 gesloten is tussen de werkgevers- en de werknemersorganisaties in de sector zeevervoer (de Associatie van reders van de Europese Gemeenschap, ECSA en de Europese Federatie van vervoerswerknemers, ETF) en die in de bijlage is opgenomen.
