Earlier Eurofound research reveals that non-permanent and involuntary part-time employment contracts are overrepresented in the type of work organisation called ‘constrained work’. Such work is characterised by an absence of autonomy at work, the impossibility of holding discussions about working conditions or work organisation in general, and a lack of demands in the work. This form of work organisation is typically found in unclassified and unskilled manual jobs and has the highest proportion of women in the youngest (under 25 years) and oldest (55 years+) age groups.
