Expresses surprise that only a slight mention is made of the introduction of the euro, in the past tense, while major problems such as that of public acceptance of the future currency, the establishment of a more balanced monetary policy than one aimed solely at combating inflation, the status of future members vis-à-vis the euro or the confusion on international markets in the face of a currency without economic direction remain to be resolved;
12. verwondert zich over het feit dat de invoering van de euro maar schaarse vermelding, en dan nog in de verleden tijd vindt, terwijl er nog enorme problemen op te lossen blijven, zoals de aanvaarding van de toekomstige munt door de openbare opinie in de lidstaten, het vastleggen van een genuanceerder monetair beleid dan alleen maar de strijd tegen de inflatie, het statuut van de toekomstige lidstaten tegenover de euro, of ook nog de grote onzekerheid van de internationale markten tegenover een munt zonder regeerinstantie in economische zaken;
