As regards aircraft security, the following third countries, as well as other countries and territories to which, in accordance with Article 355 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union Title VI of that Treaty does not apply, have been recognised as applying security standards equivalent to the common basic standards:

In my opinion, this is a foundation stone which can improve and expand the scope of the existing Intertransplant, and if it has been said here that this is clearly the first standard that can be adopted at first reading following adoption of the Treaty of Lisbon, then I am pleased about that. However, I am even more pleased that this is a topic which is genuinely European. I value that highly.
Je vois en ces propositions la pierre angulaire d’une possible amélioration et extension de la portée de l’instrument existant d’Intertransplant. Par ailleurs, si, comme je l’ai entendu dire ici, ces textes sont véritablement les premiers qui pourront être adoptés en première lecture depuis l’entrée en vigueur du traité de Lisbonne, je m’en réjouis. Je me réjouis toutefois encore plus du fait que ce sujet est authentiquement européen.

However, the EU attaches particular importance to China not only bringing its legislative, regulatory and administrative structures into line with WTO standards, but also improving social conditions in the field of employment relations. To that end, there should be dialogue between the EU and China at all levels. Notes that the European Parliament has no say in connection with China's entry into the WTO system. Given the resulting democratic deficit and the economic implications of China's accession to the WTO system for the whole of Europe and the world, that is a shortcoming which the Treaty of Nice did not remedy, and which it will be essential to remedy by means of future changes to the Treaty.

In order to allow for effective market entry and to prevent the de facto continuation of special and exclusive rights contrary to Article 90 (1) of the Treaty, in conjunction with Articles 59 and 86 of the Treaty, Member States should ensure that, during the time period necessary for such entry by competitors, telecommunications organizations publish standard terms and conditions for interconnection to the voice telephony networks which they offer to the public, including interconnect price lists and access points, no later than six months before the actual date of liberalization of voice telephony and telecommunications transmission capacity. Such standard offers should be non-discriminatory and sufficiently unbundled to allow the new entrants to purchase only those elements of the interconnection offer they actually need. Furthermore, they may not discriminate on the basis of the origin of the calls and/or the networks.
