The first ESDP manoeuvres entitled CME02 (Crisis Management Exercise 2002) with the scenario 'Save Atlantia' - a virtual island in the ocean where Europeans are entrusted with the task of ensuring peace - took place in May 2002, not on the battlefield, but on paper, in the computer and on the telephone.
La première manoeuvre intitulée CME02 (Crisis Management Exercise 2002) et dont le scénario étant intitulé "Sauvez Atlantia" – une île virtuelle sur l'Océan où les Européens se soucient de la paix – a eu lieu en mai 2002 – non pas sur le champ de manœuvre mais sur papier, sur ordinateur et au téléphone.
