b) the term “Norway” means the Kingdom of Norway, including any area outside the territorial waters of the Kingdom of Norway where the Kingdom of Norway, according to Norwegian legislation and in accordance with international law, may exercise her rights with respect to the seabed and subsoil and their natural resources; the term does not comprise Svalbard, Jan Mayen and the Norwegian dependencies (" biland" );

a) Subject to the existing provisions of the law of Canada regarding the deduction from tax payable in Canada of tax paid in a territory outside Canada and to any subsequent modification of those provisions — which shall not affect the general principle hereof — and unless a greater deduction or relief is provided under the laws of Canada, tax payable in Norway on profits, income or gains arising in Norway shall be deducted from any Canadian tax payable in respect of such profits, income or gains; and

Besides the extension of validity of the current technical measures, the proposed text contains an update on existing measures due to STECF advice and NEAFC recommendations as well as measures to reduce discards in the North-east Atlantic as agreed with Norway and the Faroe Islands in 2010 which had not yet been transposed into EU law.

V. whereas SOLVIT is an on-line problem-solving network in which EU Member States (as well as Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) work together to solve, without legal proceedings, problems encountered by citizens and businesses caused by the misapplication of internal market law by public authorities;

This Regulation shall not preclude the application of the Convention of 19 November 1934 between Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden comprising international private law provisions on succession, wills and estate administration, as revised by the intergovernmental agreement between those States of [date] 2012, by the Member States which are parties thereto, in so far as it provides for:

(28a) This Regulation should not preclude that the Member States which are parties to the Convention of 19 November 1934 between Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden comprising international private law provisions on succession, wills and estate administration should be able to continue to apply certain provisions of that Convention, as revised by the intergovernmental agreement between the States parties to the Convention.
